I just finished Programming Arduino: Getting Started with Sketches (Monk, 2012). It’s a good primer for noobs who want to know more about C programming for the Arduino. I will probably read Monk’s other intro book, Programming Arduino: Next Steps, in the future because this one was fairly straightforward and clear.
